Jimmy October

Jimmy October, is a national award-winning singer/songwriter from the vibrant island Trinidad & Tobago. Growing up in Sangre Grande and being exposed to music and creativity from a very young age is the first step of what resulted in the artist that he is today. His mother introduced him to writing poetry as well as recognising that he had a voice and something special to offer the world. October started off making his name in his home country as a poet and rapper which landed him opportunities to open shows for likes of J.Cole, Major Lazer, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Machel Montano etc and also landed him his first international release in 2017 with world renowned DJ / Producer Steve Aoki with the single “No Time” off of his album entitled KOLONY.

2017 was also the year that he tapped deeper into the roots of where he’s from and embraced home - The Caribbean, in a way he’d never done before. Fashioning a new sound that he would call “New Calypso.” With the release of his five-track EP “Vacation” in 2017, October solidified himself as a groovy, genre bender combining his native sounds Soca and Calypso with other genres such as Afrobeats, Dancehall, Hip Hop & Rnb. FADER Magazine calls him ”Trinidad’s newest musical innovator” and Complex Magazine UK named him as one of the ’10 Artists To Watch from Trinidad & Tobago’
