J.J. Murphy is a Denver-based guitarist and composer known for his soulful blend of folk, blues, rock, and jazz. He earned a Master of Music in performance from Belmont University in Nashville in 2014, studying under guitarist/composer Mike Valeras. Since then, Murphy has performed across the United States, from New York City's historic Rockwood Music Hall to The Fox Theatre in Boulder. In 2022, he relocated to Denver, Colorado, where he continues to work as a solo artist, sideman, session musician, and private teacher.
