Often referred to as one of Singapore’s most genre-defiant voices, rapper/singer-songwriter Jake Joshua DeRoy — better known as JJDROY (jay-jay-deroy) — has built a reputation as a fearless hybrid artist, blending razor-sharp flows with emotionally-charged melodies.

Renowned for his sly wordplay, versatile pen game, and distinct vocal identity, he has become a sought-after collaborator, linking up with a diverse range of acts including Axel Brizzy, TENGY, JAZZLAN, and AE$OP CA$H. From lyrical artillery to trap soul and nu-metal trap, his catalog remains unapologetically fluid.

His 7-track pop punk project Forget earned praise for its nostalgic 2000s influence and raw lyrical honesty, further proving his ability to traverse genres with authenticity. In 2021, JJDROY teamed up with metalcore outfit Reserate for the track Cynic, which landed on major editorial playlists like Beats & Rhymes, Border Beats, and New Music Friday, and culminated in a live performance at Baybeats Festival 2022. That same year, he also took the stage at GastroBeats alongside names like Jon Chua JX and ShiGGa Shay .

2025 marked a pivotal evolution, as JJDROY cemented his genre-defying presence with “LIAR,” a collaboration with Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn — solidifying his transition into post-hardcore chaos and widening his global reach.
