Asian-American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Heavily influenced by ‘90s-‘00s music growing up. JLA discovered his love for music early in his years of adolescence as it brought emotions that later inspired him to tell his story through songwriting. He was introduced to Rap music through DMX's third album "And Then There Was X". Inspired early on, by Tupac Shakur, Nas, Eminem, J. Cole, and Lauryn Hill. JLA created a collection of short music videos to display his talent called “PagesFromTheBook” where he shares his journey through his perspective.
