Born within the sound of Bow Bells, Jman is a true Cockney with deep Jamaican roots and music in his blood. His father was a hip hop DJ, and his cousins were members of So Solid Crew and Worlds Apart. His mother was an integral part of his musical upbringing—putting N.W.A records in his Christmas stocking, encouraging his creativity, and allowing him to build studios at home. Seeing his dedication, she sent him to one of the UK’s top music facilities to study properly.
Leaving London in 2009 to study music production in Plymouth, Jman quickly made his mark on the UK rave scene, hosting major Drum & Bass and Dubstep events. In 2012, aged 21, he signed to Greasy Vinyl Records and released Auranography, featuring Rag’n’Bone Man and DJ Vadim, earning critical acclaim. His explosive live shows have since taken him from Glastonbury to Fuji Rock.
In 2016, he teamed up with Illinformed to form Babylon Dead, whose albums 2000BD and Book of the Dead became underground classics, the latter winning WP Magazine’s Album of the Year. Beyond performing, he co-owns No Ice Cream Sound, a dub and reggae label and soundsystem.
After losing his father in 2021, Jman founded Jman & The Argonautz, releasing Therapy in Session on High Focus Records in 2023. In 2024, he launched 3Kingz with Born On Road, debuting with Pack Up Ya Dubz.
With over 20 million streams, Jman stands as a cornerstone of UK underground music—bridging hip hop, reggae, and DnB with authenticity and purpose.
