JMNI

JMNI (Gemini) is a LA-based World Pop duo featuring Jonathan Malone and Mark Pelli. JM and Pelli have a through-line of Motown sensibilities to their production which they carefully blend with modern elements. The melodic and lyrical content also fuse the old with the new, drawing from several decades of soulful influences.


JM is a LA native, growing up in Inglewood and moving to Palmdale at 12. He’s been deeply involved in music his entire life. His uncle Jerry “Buddy” Long was an original funk brother who composed many Motown classics such as “Just My Imagination” for The Temptations. A close family friend built him a conga drum when he was a kid and from that point, the creative seed had been planted. JM and his production skills would attract the attention of many collaborators—such as the late great Nipsey Hussle with whom JM produced timeless music with, most notable song “The Marathon Continues”.


Mark Pelli is a singer/multi-instrumentalist from Toronto currently residing in Los Angeles. He is the guitarist and co-founder of the critically acclaimed group Magic!  Pelli wrote the hook of the ear-worm "Rude" which achieved number 1 status around the world. He’s also a prolific song writer and has produced/co-written records for many artists including:  J Cole (Kevin’s Heart), Chris Brown (Don’t Judge Me), Shakira, Anthony Hamilton, Trey Songz, Sabrina Claudio, JoJo, Marsha Ambrosius and more.
