With hauntingly beautiful vocals and evocative storytelling, Jo Davie has captured the attention of audiences across Australia, earning praise from Triple J and receiving the Carol Lloyd Award at the Queensland Music Awards. Her new single, ‘Colder’ is a folk-pop masterpiece, featuring kaleidoscopic guitar, heavenly strings, and dreamy riffs, painting a vivid portrait of a relationship unraveling and the strength found in moving forward. Her lilting voice, impressive versatility, and compelling storytelling weave together an experience to stir the soul and linger in the heart.
Jo has honed her craft, bursting onto the Australian scene as runner-up Folk Alliance Young Artist of the Year, she has since won audiences across Australia and become a regular on the festival circuit, performing at Sydney Festival, Darwin Festival , Bleach Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, and many more. In the last couple of years, Jo supported ARIA-winning artist Katie Noonan at prestigious venues including QPAC Concert Hall, gained recognition as lead vocalist of ‘Cigany Weaver’ (2 x National Live Music Award Nominations), and toured internationally, playing Glastonbury (UK), The Great Escape (UK), South By South West (US), and Reeperbahn (EU) as a band member in other projects.
‘Colder’ is the final glimpse into Jo’s debut EP ‘Nothing Comes Free’, recorded by Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music) and set for release on Friday May 2nd alongside an 8-date Australian tour.
