<a href="spotify:artist:1SwDdNTeYnw1Jwwf3d12NS">Aaron Turner</a>, frontman of the seminal post-metal Boston <a href="spotify:artist:2vsXeWGC8rILp3rpSN2Fyk">Isis</a>, is perhaps one of the busiest men in modern metal. His schedule somehow manages to include participating in projects like <a href="spotify:artist:1Rc7L8nr2gvXKlqDL4tVKj">Old Man Gloom</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6qWDwqxnhHlnIp4aSjGhCj">Drawing Voices</a>, Lotus Eaters, and <a href="spotify:artist:5snhpbx4yXwUl5KFpNRHt8">Mamiffer</a>, running the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Hydra+Head%22">Hydra Head</a> label, and designing sleeves and covers for albums of various bands, both his own and others. As if that wasn't enough, he started one more project in 2008, again joining efforts with bassist, guitarist, and his Lotus Eaters collaborator <a href="spotify:artist:1CusK9ZzpFOpHeBdMP25pM">James Plotkin</a>, of <a href="spotify:artist:4QuF87x3dFrXOEw7jDvbFM">O.L.D</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0ZNCNiBDVNRNMXC6Bp3gOi">Khanate</a>, and various other projects. Rounded out by <a href="spotify:artist:1CusK9ZzpFOpHeBdMP25pM">Plotkin</a>'s ex-<a href="spotify:artist:0ZNCNiBDVNRNMXC6Bp3gOi">Khanate</a> colleague Tim Wyskida, the new band was christened Jodis (apparently a species of moth) and recorded its debut album, Secret House, in the second half of 2008. For some reason, the sparse and atmospheric record, which <a href="spotify:artist:1CusK9ZzpFOpHeBdMP25pM">Plotkin</a> likened to "more relaxed <a href="spotify:artist:0ZNCNiBDVNRNMXC6Bp3gOi">Khanate</a>" and "much heavier <a href="spotify:artist:0wz0jO9anccPzH04N7FLBH">Low</a>," sat on the shelf for almost a year, until it was finally released through <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Hydra+Head%22">Hydra Head</a> in October 2009. ~ Sergey Mesenov, Rovi
