The release in January 2021 of TWILIGHT / GLIDE marks the pinnacle of Eglash’s music and perhaps his most relatable work. The career-defining blend of dreamy, warm-sounding songs has the construct of a classic concept album invoking the mysterious nature of being sleepless in the middle of the night. From beginning to finish, these songs have the heart and catchiness of Sgt. Pepper and the curious mystery of Smile. String arrangements and an analog ease add appeal. There is an intangible magic to this album.
A MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST BY NATURE—though Joe is also well-known as the lead guitarist in numerous successful bands. He performs all the instruments on his solo albums and produces and mixes himself. He has been songwriter, musical director and arranger, and lead guitarist in many successful live bands including the Flood and the Charmers, among many others.
JOE STUDIED CLASSICAL GUITAR with Jeffrey Van at the University of Minnesota and himself taught guitar professionally for many years. He earned a B.A. in Judaic Studies from Brooklyn College.
