Singer/songwriter Joel Henderson spent his formative years bouncing around America's heartland before establishing roots in the musically fertile soil of Louisville, Kentucky. Raised on a diet of Bruce Springsteen, James McMurtry, and John Mellencamp, Henderson's own take on Americana puts the magnifying glass to matters of the heart, head, and soul, and relationships and expectations, both failed and met. Employing a dusty, heartfelt blend of country, rock, and windswept alt-pop, Henderson put out a self-released EP, High Risk, before releasing his full-length debut, 2012's Locked Doors & Pretty Fences. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
