Joel Leoj

Hailing from the bustling creative scene of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, native and upcoming lyricist, Joel Barrett, musically known as Joel Leoj, began his journey as early as the age of 12 years old with nothing much more than some skilled poetry and cyphers in a collection of small composition notebooks. Coupled with the guidance and wisdom of his steadfast and gifted family, Joel has been able to cultivate an opportunity through his music to not only honor God and the roots in which he grew from but also make a difference in society and the lives his music touches. Following his move to Lawrence, Kansas, Joel Leoj was able to find his sense of belonging in the industry and linked up with the likes of other artists such as TIG and J.Brooks, as well go on his first tour, The Cuee Experience, with artist Cuee. While embodying a vulnerable and versatile songwriting style, Joel Leoj seamlessly blends the likes of multiple genres from gospel, rap, hip-hop, trap, and R&B to deliver a unique and unifying experience to his fans. Joel's next project Priceless, an EP, is set to release sometime early February 2022.
