When Joël burst onto the Canadian music scene in 2019 with his debut EP GRUNGE GOSPEL, he accumulated over 3.5 million streams. The Toronto-born artist was immediately heralded by the likes of Pigeons & Planes as a genre-defying one-to-watch—an unpredictable new artist fusing modern R&B with 90s grunge. Now, Joël is returning with a long-awaited followup. The new project, I Still Think About You, uses some of the same key sonic influences that helped make his name, but the four-track EP sees him exploring a moodier, sultrier R&B sound. A deep-dive into the woods of his own heartbreak, it charts his mental and emotional cycle over the process of healing from a breakup. With I Still Think About You, we’re skimming the surface of a deep, as-yet-untapped well from a singular artist at the beginning of a long journey, with the innate gift of communicating universal feelings while writing very personally about his own experiences.
