Working alongside <a href="spotify:artist:6lcBiGiT3dlyDMjBBtfyfS" data-name="Vacation Manor">Vacation Manor</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3ZCD3tQbvP8bEDJ2q3wbGG" data-name="Carson Cody">Carson Cody</a>, <a href="spotify:album:4qSbWZWj6gG8S0MDW3n7x8" data-name="D.D. Horns">D.D. Horns</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3y53C4M2HLRT1aKezr0f2i" data-name="Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon">Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon</a>, producer @<a href="spotify:artist:3kZAEwPEGGOaHMYRbNK7m1" data-name="Chris Schlarb">Chris Schlarb</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:5NKjZi3t7JxCPaiFcoV17h" data-name="Psychic Temple">Psychic Temple</a>, and many other talented session artists (ranging from Nashville to L.A to Central VA) in the summer of 2016, Joel Robert Kaiser began reinventing his sound after his band <a href="spotify:artist:1rEMYqmObXp1n44Sk4PlPu" data-name="Glass Oaks">Glass Oaks</a> disbanded at the beginning of 2015.
<a href="spotify:album:7aVxGkYqK5yHnzLPBpEH0Q" data-name="Call It Pity">Call It Pity</a> was the amalgamation of the transformation and was released in mid-April 2017 as Kaiser moved from Lynchburg, VA to Nashville, TN, followed by the thin but determined <a href="spotify:track:5IaeUdCnx6hNdCTboGMVFG" data-name="Nothin' from Somethin' Doesn't Ring the Same">Nothin' from Somethin' Doesn't Ring the Same</a>—crafted with help from other artists in his East Nashville community like <a href="spotify:artist:50twoLDP0Ipw5xBNmgL2Hd" data-name="David Smalt">David Smalt</a>—along with 2020’s <a href="spotify:album:1ltw5KHgobqoLqA274fSBb" data-name="Foggymttop">Foggymttop</a>.
During that 3-5 year span, Kaiser also continued to branch out sonically in even more directions with his virtual Dadaist-rock band <a href="spotify:artist:51c83ATzdlu6gehQpkZ5o4" data-name="PLSR">PLSR</a> and co-writing with ethereal songwriter and producer <a href="spotify:artist:3vVDncwsr2d6svvsH8WVYO" data-name="Joe Zempel">Joe Zempel</a>.
Currently, his music tech startup www.firstrule.ai is harmonizing AI with the music industry through their Musical Essence (M.E) Models™ for all types of music makers and music rights holders alongside partners like Musical AI.
