We met Joey when he was working remodeling our master bathroom.
The door to the bathroom was closed but we heard Joey rapping something. We
told him we were record producers and asked him to run his rap so we could really hear what he was saying. He was rapping about his life. You see Joey, in his youth, wanted to become a rapper but sold drugs and robbed to make money, which landed him in jail. In jail, his wife told him
that the marriage was over. They had had 5 children, so it was hard on the kids. He tried to maintain a relationship for the sake of the children. He
kept calling, but she wouldn't accept his calls from jail. When he finally got out, he started working for this home improvement company . He just wanted to make an honest living and change his life for the better. He turned his life around, but his ex-wife still wouldn’t let him see his kids. He really just wanted another chance to prove that he could be a GOOD father this time. He recorded this in our Hot Fun Records studio along with several other songs. We helped him tweak some of the lyrics & produced the music tracks. He was so excited to finally hear his lyrics put to music, but he decided not to pursue a music career & stay with a steady job to support his kids. Today he owns a Home Improvement business and has since been reunited with his children. We’re so proud of Joey and we hope you support his music, which in turn will help him support his kids. Everyone deserves a second chance in life.
