Johan Steensland is a mulit-instrumentalist, singer, and composer from Sweden. He first appeared on the stage in 1982 with his progressive rock band Sheik Ahmeed. His early music was inspired by artists like Genesis, Rush and King Crimson. In 1985 Steensland wrote and recorded a Chess-inspired rock opera calld Cross-fade. The music is now being re-recorded with a release planned for 2022. In the late 1980:s, Steensland wrote and live-performed a series of simpler Swedish pop songs, inspired by artists like Peter Gabriel, Toto and Sting. This music is re-recorded and released in Steensland's album Position Melker, 2021.
After devoting his time to higher education, Steensland released the pop-soul-jazz album Do dem slow songs in 1999. He also performed the music live.
