Johbru

In the 80s, Johbru topped the charts in Norway. During the 40 years since he has been on the road, he has nevertheless managed to release a number of releases. In 2019, he was admitted to hospital isolation in Norway after getting a heart infection after a snail crawled into his ear in Zanzibar. The always adventure-seeking and cheerful and musical man had many thoughts in his hospital bed, so many in fact, that it all became new music. The album Kommer hjem no, was released in November 2022, and has been voted one of the 5th best Norwegian album for that year. The album contains 11 of the songs he wrote after he had a guitar delivered to his room at the hospital. Inspired by thoughts he had as he lay there, Johbru took pen to paper and let the words flow. For example what he would say to his loved ones when he got the chance, now at the very end - what do you say when you have to say a final goodbye - as is revealed in Kongen av Ingenting (The King of Nothing). In the last couple of years, he has had an extensive concert activity - and released another album, in English - The endless ascent of Skybound Misfit.
