John Beasley is a far-ranging pianist who began his career in his 20s backing jazz icons Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard & Sergio Mendes. Since then Beasley has performed/toured/recorded with a wide range of artists including Dianne Reeves, Steely Dan, AR Rahman, Christian McBride, Chaka Khan, Carly Simon, Chucho Valdes, and even one stint with James Brown.
As a recording artist, Beasley has a dozen albums. His big band trilogy MONK’estra Vol 1, Vol 2 & MONK'estra Plays earned 6 consecutive GRAMMY noms & 1 win.

Beasley balances a multi-faceted career producing albums with Peter Erskine, Lee Ritenour, Dianne Reeves & 3x Grammy nominated "Bird Lives" w Stuttgart's SWR Big Band.
When not on tour, Beasley works films w composer Thomas Newman: James Bond Spectre, Skyfall, Finding Dory, Finding Nemo.
Every year, Beasley steps up to the helm as Music Director for the Herbie Hancock Jazz Inst to direct Intl Jazz Day global gala concerts. Past concerts have been held in Istanbul, Havana, Paris, Sydney, New York, New Orleans, Osaka, St Petersburg & the White House, which earned him an Emmy nomination for Best Musical Direction.
