John Buckley’s rather rapid growth in popularity began when he was living in Surfy Cornwall, England, studying music at Truro College. He was content at the age of 15 playing open-mic nights and busking on the harbour when he began casually sharing acoustic covers of popular songs on his Facebook page. This really paid off for him, Buckley’s enchanting vocals and unique style shone through these simple, stripped back performances and he rightly gained a loyal following.
BBC Introducing and Radio 1 picked up his own material and soon spread the word. A few releases and a string of festival performances later and it appears he’s en route to great things.
