John James Renfrow (Born April 27, 1987) is an American music producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter from Seattle, WA. Considered one of the pioneers of Electronic music in the Pacific Northwest, he is credited as being one of the first electronic musicians from the area to have his work recognized by some of the dance industry’s leading DJs and labels.
John spent much of his early career working his way up in the Seattle music scene, playing in local bands and music projects. In his late teens, John started working in studios around the greater Seattle area. He has recorded projects at prominent studios such as Robert Lang, Orbit Audio, and Konscious Studios in Santa Monica.
By his early twenties, John’s unique style and songwriting ability garnered the interest of international artists and producers. His music gained the support of world renowned DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, and Paul van Dyk, who featured him on their radio shows (A State of Trance, Global DJ Broadcast, and VONYC Sessions).
His collaborations with artist/producer Brian Laruso for Magic Island earned the support of Roger Shah, who prominently featured them on his critically acclaimed compilation series and radio show, Music For Balearic People. His songs were included on various compilations for Black Hole Recordings, with Music For Balearic People vol. 6 and vol. 7 charting in the iTunes Top 10 in multiple countries.
