John McGowan is a huge music fan who has travelled the world to see his favourite bands but mostly loves the contemporary music artists of his homeland, Ireland.
In tribute to these artists John wanted to release versions of his favourite songs from these artists.
John returns with his second album, And So It Is, in January 2025 featuring covers of tracks from Damien Rice, U2, Glen Hansard, The Frames, Snow Patrol, Sting and Bell X1.
This time his daughter, Elena, enters the stage singing on several tracks on the album which John describes as "a special moment".
John elevated production on And So It Is working once again with Rafa Sánchez at Hive Studio, Valencia and Carlos Gómez on production duties.
John brought in an additional string section and worked with vocal producer, Maria Kosenkova.
The band on this second album featured Carlos Gómez on guitars and vocals, Álvaro Ponce on keys, Natxo Tamarit on bass, Jorge Torres on acoustic guitar and Edu Olmedo on drums.
String conductor and arrangements by Matteo Nahum featured Yevgeny Moriatov, Lelia Lancovici, Javier Cárdenas and Alex Friedhoff.
His first album, Every Breaking Wave, was released in November 2021 which featured his version of tracks from U2, Snow Patrol and Bell X1.
His band on the first album was Carlos Gómez on guitars, Álvaro Ponce on keys, Natxo Tamarit on bass and Adrián Ribes on drums and percussion.
Both albums were recorded at Hive Studio, Valencia, Spain with Rafa Sánchez.
