John Roy Zat (aka John Croizat) has been performing in the greater San Francisco Bay Area since the 1970's. Kate Wolf recorded his words to "Midnight On The Water" for her second album, and the song has since been covered by Banish Misfortune, Caroline Herring and others. John's most recent CD "Where Zat" ranked #12 in Roots Music Report's Top 50 Alt Folk Albums of 2022. His three previous CDs, "Solo", "Collaborations", and "Who Zat" have also gotten consistent airplay on independent radio and charted well.
With Appalachian influences, Cajun, dust bowl, and a dash of rockabilly, John's songs highlight the bittersweet ups-and-downs of life, and the promise of love we all have within us. "Great lyrics, rich vocals, solid guitar picking, and his fiddling rocks !!" Videos, photos and more at royzat.com
