John Scott approaches classic pop-rock songwriting with a new and refreshing attitude. He reinvigorates the genre of rock 'n' roll with a genuine lyrical performance while paying tribute to some of the most distinguished and important songwriters of the 20th century.
From the moment he saw Angus Young prancing around on stage in a school boy's uniform with a devil-horned guitar, John knew that he wanted to wield that same type of energy and share it with an audience. He draws upon cult influences like Big Star, The Replacements and The New York Dolls to channel his unbridled passion for playing rock music.
Born in Berkeley, CA John began his songwriting career performing at open mics around the bay and spent the last few years living in New Orleans perfecting his songwriting craft and touring around the South. His releases include various singles, an EP entitled Tension : Release and a live album called In Spite of All the Flaws which can be found on all streaming platforms. John Scott's upcoming EP Romance Comics is a unique and honest expression of someone who has no qualms about exposing his own truth to those willing to listen.
