Producer/multi-instrumentalist John W. Andrews grew up in Seattle, Washington. In the 70’s and 80’s John toured Western US and Canada with bands such as Loft, Don King’s Tribute to Elvis and Vamp.

By the mid 90’s John was residing in Los Angeles composing and producing instrumental music for film and TV such as NBC’s Saturday Night Live, 1996 Olympics Committee in Atlanta, Southern California Edison, KBTC's Northwest Week, Seattle Center, etc.

Between 1999 and 2000 John played and recorded a 5 song demo with K.A.$.H (Kane, Andrews, Selness & Houlihan).

John teamed up again with Michael Houlihan and Kip Kane in 2001 to release the CD "Christmas With The Roasted Nuts".

In 2009 John released the CD “Riffs and Dreams” as Convergence Zone, which again teamed him up with long-time collaborator Michael Houlihan on vocals, drums and keyboards. As the result of a Craigslist ad placed by Richard D’Ambrosio in 2018, the two began writing and recording new music together under the artist name The DA.

2021 saw the birth of The Sand Surfers with bandmates Ed Wolleson, Pete Alford and Chris Videler.
