For over 20 years Johnny O'Donnell has been releasing provocative, exuberant and challenging pop albums that defy classification. His soulful singing is heavily based on his Louisiana upbringing and the classic crooners of a by-gone era. The production gears towards psychedelic flirtations with R&B, New Wave, Latin and Techno genres. His songwriting has been compared to the likes of Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney & Wings, Tears for Fears, Elvis Costello and George Michael.
His most recent release of 'Cats EP' is the digital version of the special 2021 RSD single (ORG Music). It features arrangements from Van Dyke Parks (Beach Boys, Randy Newman) and production by L.A.-based Lewis Pesacov.
He currently resides in Porto Alegre, Brazil and is collaborating with Brazilian singer-songwriter Deluce and writer-arranger Edu Meirelles on various projects whose release if forthcoming.
