As the son of a musical father who played piano and church organ, and a mother who was a poet, Jon started writing poetry on his grandpa's typewriter when he was 5, and continued writing into his teens. He started writing songs in the 1970's when he moved to Colorado. In 1995 he moved to Arkansas to focus on writing songs and polishing his playing by participating in "open mics" and collaborations with other musicians. In the last five years Jon has focused on his internet presence, foregoing live music performances. To Jon, music is his world, and he is merely a player.. one voice out of many,
