Jon Trotta is a 19-year-old composer, harpist, and pianist based in Brisbane. He began his musical journey at the age of five on piano, later expanding to harp as his primary instrument, pursuing a career as a professional performer and composer. Jon completed high school at Music Industry College and now attends the Queensland Conservatorium.
In 2025, Jon released his debut orchestral work ‘Impression, Water-Lilies’, a piece inspired by Monet’s paintings and the natural beauty of a lake scattered with water lilies. The five-minute composition, written for piano, harp, strings, and woodwinds, was nominated for the Queensland Music Awards in the Youth category.
His music blends textures of Impressionism and minimalism and ambient. Drawing influence from composers such as Debussy and Ravel, Jon explores colour, atmosphere, and stillness through music.
