I have never taken for granted that each song I release could be my last—whether because I may no longer be able to make music, or simply because I might not have another story to tell.
For that reason & others, it has been a deep honor & a dream come true to write, record, & release <a href="spotify:album:5WVTCYLGMONhTyg5Tx9wDs" data-name="The Garden">The Garden</a>. It’s the album that I have always been trying to create. I am very proud of it & hope it takes on a life of its own that lasts beyond mine.
The last ten years of creating music have been made possible & made better by the people who I crossed paths with along the way. That is who I imagine is singing in the chorus of voices at the end of the album, & I am so grateful to them. From the listeners who let my songs soundtrack a small part of their story to the countless friends and mentors who have selflessly supported me, thank you.
When I finished the title track, I thought for the first time, “If this is the last song anyone hears from Jonah Taylor, then that’s okay.” If not, that’s okay too. But if so, then I feel nothing but gratitude for the chance I have been given to chase every dream I ever had of creating music—& more.
