Jonas Luminas is a german guitarist, oud player, and composer whose music bridges cultures, genres, and personal experiences.
Born in 1995, Jonas picked up the guitar at six and was performing rock and metal by 11. Driven by a desire to find his unique sound, he began composing his own music, blending elements of ambient, metal, and ethnic fusion.
At 19, Jonas embarked on a transformative four-year journey along the Silk Road, hitchhiking and busking with just his guitar. Immersing himself in the musical traditions of the Middle East, India, and Central Asia, he discovered the universality of music as a language through countless jams with local musicians. Time spent in solitude deepened his connection to his instrument, shaping his introspective, expressive style.
His debut EP, “Where the Wind Blows”(2019), recorded in Taiwan, reflects the essence of his travels and supported a local charity for youth with disabilities.
Returning to Germany, Jonas released his first full-length album, Boundless (2021), a home - recorded fusion of his global influences and metal roots, featuring oud, tabla, and 7-string guitars.
From 2021–2024, Jonas studied creative music and leadership at the Internal Compass Institute in Israel, co-founding his main project <a href="spotify:artist:6vNQwhiNldg6LTsSLSxdzF" data-name="Tau Ensemble">Tau Ensemble</a> as well as <a href="spotify:artist:2yahZamCcU08zZ27XpdK82" data-name="Yakamoz Duo">Yakamoz Duo</a> and collaborating with a vibrant artistic community.
