Jonathan Brain

A performer of broad interests, Jonathan Brain sings opera and
sacred music, plays rock’n’roll, writes songs and works for theatre, conducts choirs and
teaches music.

Jonathan’s performing career has seen him sing opera in the outback, play original music across
Australia, perform regularly with WA Opera and the renowned St George’s Cathedral Consort, compose music for films, choirs and theatre and spend many late nights playing loud guitars in rock bands.

He has toured interstate and internationally, performing regularly at festivals such as Fairbridge Festival, Nanga Festival and the National Folk Festival. He regularly records and releases original material under his own name, and is frequently broadcast on independent radio. As a session musician, he has contributed guitar and keyboard playing to numerous recordings and live performances, ranging in style from art-rock to Motown, from folk music to jazz.

A multi-instrumentalist as comfortable singing Monteverdi in a cathedral as playing Zappa in a downtown dive, Jonathan is a unique and engaging musician.
