18 year old Jontae, has been taking the internet by storm. With being had
to accumulate millions of views on platforms like Tik Tok. Hailing from Flint Michigan, Jontae grew up
the youngest of three older siblings. In his early days Jontae had went to over
7 schools throughout Flint, Jontae’s Mom would continuously
move him around to different schools because he would tend to get in different
altercations with other kids. At about age 10, he grew a love for the game of
basketball & started to work toward his goal to become a professional. From
there Jontae would begin to play for his school teams along with local AAU
programs in his area. Jontae remembers some of his earliest musical
influences being artists such as, J- Cole, Chris Brown & Rod Wave. Hence his
very versatile musical approach, with being able to be very lyrical, melodic &
also amazing abilities to be a storyteller through his lyrics. Jontae stated his
cousin, Sheem is the one who ultimately encouraged him to start writing music.
After recording videos of himself free-styling or performing something he had
written previously he began to post them to platforms like Tik Tok & Instagram
where they would start to gain traction and become a viral sensation on those
platforms. Jontae intends to become one of the best lyricist the industry has yet
to see, he wants to be remembered for his storytelling & the one to give the
genre of “Soul Music” back to this new generation of the music industry.
