Joonas

Joonas is a Norwegian-born indie pop artist based in the UK. His goal is to always try to write from a place of honesty, never chasing perfection but trying to capture what feels real in the moment. His songs often reflect the in-between: not quite happy, not quite broken, always searching for something. For him, contrast and duality are where the emotion lives, and these are probably his strongest tools.

Originally from a small town, Joonas grew up feeling a bit outside of things. Theatre and film gave him a place to escape, and music became the way he processed everything that didn’t make sense. His childhood life of escapism became the foundation for his sound. Imaginary but intimate, cinematic but raw.

Always drawn to the unexplored and unsaid, Joonas sees music as a way to explore what it feels like to be lost in life. Endlessly searching each song becomes a picture of who he was in that moment, always shifting, always searching.
His latest work is quieter, more stripped down. It was made alone, in a room, with too many thoughts and too little sleep. What comes through is something fragile but full of life. It’s not perfect, and that’s the point.
