Jordan E. Spivack: I'm an award-winning composer/lyricist who lives in Nanuet, NY, where I am a full time private piano, music theory and composition teacher, instructing students of all ages and levels. There are two things that fuel my life: music and love. And when I teach, write and play music these two things join forces. I need my compositions to reflect the world around me and within me. When I'm working on music I get lost in the process, and lose complete track of time - it's a lovely gift, and I'm very thankful for it. Born in Brooklyn, NY, I started piano lessons at age 5 after my parents Sophie and Gershon discovered I had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old I studied piano and music theory (for 3 years) at Cornell University. I was a member of the rock band The Creation while in HS in Cortland, NY. After receiving a BM degree from Ithaca College, where I also studied Piano Pedagogy, I went on to receive my MM in composition, theory and piano from Indiana U. Since then I have written many pop songs, classical, new age and jazz tunes, 3 musicals for children, and the opera: "A Better Way", with libretto by Joseph P. Lanzone. My original Singles, released in 2017, are "Eclipse", "Amp Up", "Neon", and "Jump For You". My original solo instrumental CDs include "Shimmer", "Think Lovely Thoughts", “My Provincetown", "World Trade Center Suite", "Symmetry", "Pictures Of Me", and "Red Ribbon Collection".
