Jorden Makelle

Jorden Makelle is a Dallas-based singer-songwriter / indie folk musician. Born and raised in rural East Texas, she fell in love with music when she started taking piano lessons and singing at 5 years old, often hosting informal "concerts" for her family as a child, where she'd sing from atop a rusty, old trampoline in her backyard. After moving to Dallas in her early 20's to seek out opportunities in music, Jorden joined indie rock band Derisory as a vocalist and keyboard player. She played and sang all around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, occasionally alongside Dallas Observer Music Award-winning artists. After the band dissolved, she started an indie-electronic act with her partner called SZRHNDS, where she became more involved in the singing and songwriting process for the first time. It wasn't until 2020 that Jorden finally started writing her own songs and started her solo project, which "was never planned – it just sort of happened due to the soul-crushing loneliness of the lockdowns and being forced to deal with difficult emotions for the first time instead of running away from them."


Jorden's debut single, "Dark Side," tells the story of the decision those in long-term relationships face: When times get tough, do you decide to stick it out and fight for the person you love most?


"Dark Side" released on 02.25.2022, and will be followed by two more singles and an EP in 2022.
