Jordy Tuip:
Another classic story for the books: young man got gifted a guitar at the age of 8 and never looked back again. Jordy Tuip (Volendam, The Netherlands), born in 1996, is a guitarist by heart. Slowly moving from acoustic to electric, he now masters anything that has six (or more) strings, including mandolin and pedal steel guitar.
Owing his inspiration to Yes, Steely Dan, The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Gentle Giant, and The Four Freshmen, the desire for his own album landed. The initial idea was to transform the combination of Prog, Classic Rock and Barbershop vocals in something ‘commercial’. This was followed by wanting to combine the latter mix of genres with his own atmosphere that had never been thought of before. Or as he mentions: “which is not made anymore”, he became highly motivated to take on this challenge.
During his professional career, he has been working in the music industry for 8 years as a sound engineer. Meanwhile, Jordy has been working for 4 years as a professional session musician in which he takes on the task of pedal steel guitar, mandolin, guitar and backing vocals.
November 19, 2021 was marked by the long-awaited release show of Mystic Matter that took place in grand impressive form at a local pop venue. This show will definitely not be his first and last, as well as his album..
