North London musician and member of the band Great Ytene, Jorge Antony Stride's debut release Sketches is a collection of minimalist ambient noise experimentations that float in transitional state.
The initial recordings were experimental in nature and intended to document the development of ideas and possibilities
In 2017 fresh off the back of releasing and touring an album with Great Ytene, Stride holed up in his north London flat and took the time to elaborate on some of the sound textures and drone samples that he had created for the band.
With no restrictions, no deadlines, and no intent other than to have a good time and learn how to use a cheap synthesiser, Stride would improvise from tape loops, drones and noise in the evenings, experimenting and effecting with pedals and keyboards to playfully mould and shape lengthy compositions.
The album exhibits progression and exploration of various techniques and styles allowing the compositions to exist within their own space but also together as a document of ideas and development.
