Since 2015, Joseph McDade has been an independent studio-based producer, composer, and artist, currently working out of eastern Florida. His discography includes a dizzying array of styles and genres ranging from indie rock and progressive metal to classical, electronic, synthwave, and lo-fi.
His first full-length solo album, Scatterbrained, was the culmination of his degree at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York in 2018. Since then, he has launched a career as a freelance composer and producer, having a sizable library of music available for royalty-free license at patreon.com/josephmcdade. Highlighting his more classical and dramatic work in 2020, Joseph worked with fantasy writer Alan McGill to create a backing score for Alan's audiobook/podcast "A Cry In The Moon's Light". In addition to freelancing, Joseph is currently the composer and audio producer for the YouTube channel Koranos, who's videos have had more than 11 million views since April of 2021.
Joseph cites artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Thrice, Howard Shore, Olafur Arnalds, Devin Townsend, and Radiohead to be some of his major musical influences.
