Josh Blocker

Born and raised in the DMV. Josh Blocker is a self-taught guitar player. Influences include: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Zakk Wylde, and Philip Sayce. Josh released first album on April 1, 2022.


His passion for guitar started at eight years old. His fav music is: blues, rock and metal. Josh tragically lost his brother in 2014 who was shot by a police officer. Josh played at his brothers funeral. It was one of the hardest things to do. He was encouraged by family and friends to not stop playing guitar.


In 2016, he began to busk on the streets of Washington, DC. He brings joy to people who stop and listen. He has met wonderful people from around the world busking at the White House and around DC. He is inspired by great ones that started out busking such as BB King. Josh’s current favorite artists: Gary Clark Jr., Eric Gales, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram.
