Born in Columbus, GA, Josh Bricker grew up with two passions, one for music and one for baseball. Learning the drums at a young age and playing alongside his father is where he first developed his passion for music.
Josh traded playing high school bonfires and tailgates for a glove and a diamond as he accepted a full scholarship to LaGrange College where, for the next 4 years he would chase his passion for baseball. Never being able to put music down, Josh bounced around in different bands playing private acoustic parties, but it wasn’t until he moved to Athens, GA for his Masters when he decided to take the stage for the first time. While a student at UGA, Josh was able to build a pretty good buzz at some of the local bars and this fueled his decision to pursue music as a career.
“I wrote my first song my sophomore year of college,” says Josh, “but when I started co-writing with some experienced guys in and out of Nashville, that’s when I noticed my drive for songwriting. It's been great to continue to write in Nashville and get into more and more rooms and build my catalog up for a few years now."
Josh received his first cut as a co-writer on Sony Nashville/RCA recording artist Andrew Jannakos' debut country radio single "Gone Too Soon". The song, written alongside Jannakos and Jason Afable (who penned Mackenzie Porter's #1 hit "Seeing Other People"), debuted at #1 in Digital Country Sales and #12 on Billboard's Hot Country Tracks.
