Josh Geffin is a singer-songwriter whose music has taken has variety of routes in recent years, from the jazzed-up traditional folk songs of 'Rocks Of Bawn' to the meditative instrumental country of 'Hum & Glow' and the heart-on-sleeve acoustic ballads of 2020 EP ‘Islands'. Latest EP, ‘Hold On To The Light’, funded by Help Musicians, was released on Pear O'Legs Records in 2022. Written during lockdown, the songs explore themes of displacement, polarisation and hope, underpinned by Geffin's characteristic fingerpicking guitar style, with alt-rock, country and poetic influences. The EP features vocals from frequent collaborators Victoria Hume and Antony Hurley, drums by Karl Penney, and mixing by Sonny Johns, who produced Geffin's debut album. 'Hold on to the Light' gained support from BBC London and Folk Radio, who said the EP was “soothing and masterfully crafted".
Josh was born in London, grew-up in rural Dorset, and currently lives with his young family in Essex.
