Josh Richard

Josh Richard is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Massachusetts. Often writing, recording, and mixing out of his home studio, Richard’s influences range from <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2" data-name="The Beatles">The Beatles</a> baroque pop to the lush modern sounds of bands like <a href="spotify:artist:5INjqkS1o8h1imAzPqGZBb" data-name="Tame Impala">Tame Impala</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3Sz7ZnJQBIHsXLUSo0OQtM" data-name="Mac DeMarco">Mac DeMarco</a>.


<a href="spotify:artist:6hUQAIZRdIGDw064oNkXAn" data-name="Cities &amp; States">Cities &amp; States</a>, Josh’s original solo project dating back to 2005, yielded hundreds of recordings including the two <a href="spotify:artist:2oXOkD60VlqtLF95v3cfJZ" data-name="Jhainish">Jhainish</a> produced albums <a href="spotify:album:0P7a0mXBjTCZnynGdLbmcw" data-name="Straight Jacket">Straight Jacket</a> and <a href="spotify:album:0EVKszZiAagUpuhU6Nlg8u" data-name="Sophomore Slump">Sophomore Slump</a>. Many other recordings were self-produced and released directly to Bandcamp during that time. Josh has contributed different live elements to the bands <a href="spotify:artist:5EALlPrlw8jh3zRQ5YyvBK" data-name="Worst Coast">Worst Coast</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:48ArPjkg4eeTRFMB9abusw" data-name="Helenor">Helenor</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:4C7mkKn8FcoG96tUSnfwZf" data-name="Civic">Civic</a> from drums, synth, guitar, and vocals.
