Joshua Alexander is an Indonesian Jazz Bassist, producer, and composer from Jakarta. Began playing electric bass at age 14,
In 2015, he was a graduate of the Perguruan “Cikini” Vocational High School of Music, where his double bass studies started.
Also, he studied at Tribeca Jazz Institute in New York City, where he got an opportunity to further his musical education and experience in the jazz center of the world and has studied with David Wong, Paul
Sikivie, Grant Stewart, Vincent Herring, Rodney Green, Pasquale Grasso, Eric Alexander. In 2023 he released his first solo album "Nothing but Happiness"
and a collective album “Some of My Best Friends Are Jazz Cats!” With Dua Empat and Hansen Arief, which was awarded the 26th AMI Award for Best Jazz Album.
As a first-call bassist in Jakarta, Joshua has performed,recorded and worked with some of the biggest names in the Indonesia music industry including Adikara Fardy, Ardhito Pramono, Andien, Barry Likumahuwa, Calvin Jeremy, Candra Darusman, Chiki Fawzi, Dea Dalila, Dewa Budjana, Dua Empat, Dwiki Dharmawan, East Side Jazz Initiative, Hezky Jo, Ify Alyssa, Ikang Fawzi, Indra Lesmana, Ita Purnamasari, Ivan Nestorman, Jamie Aditya, Nial Djuliarso, Nonaria, Margie Segers, Maudy Ayunda, Mondo Gascaro, Oele Pattiselanno, Sandhy Sondoro, Vira Talisa.
