Born and raised in Baton Rouge Louisiana, Josiah Shillow’s journey began against the odds.
Having grown up in a traditional religious household, Shillow was forced to sneak the family
radio to listen to popular music. In his bedroom, which also acted as the family workout room,
Shillow discovered his love for artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Cold Play.

Armed with his secret inspirations and a guitar gifted to him by his aunt, Shillow began creating
music at the age of fourteen. However, it wasn’t until his parents divorced when he was sixteen
years old that he truly realized the role that creating played in his life. Shillow began to use
songwriting as a way of processing life’s events and continues to do so to this day.

At the heart of Josiah Shillow’s work is a celebration of the human experience. This includes the
highs as well as the lows of life. Listeners can find this dichotomy in the aimless desperation of
his break-out single, “Paralyzed,” as well as the euphoric buzz of new love found in his latest
release, “Anywhere, Pt.II”. No matter the circumstances, Shillow’s songs act as conduits of the
unexplainable.
