True talent knows no boundaries. Age doesn’t define it, and it often defies expectations. Josie Sal is a prime example. At only 13 years old, the talented newcomer is garnering attention with her evocative voice and confessional songwriting.
The young entertainer is forging ahead and is garnering even more attention with the most recent release of “Two Cents,” now at 60K streams and her self-penned “Country Gold,” reaching 95K streams, which spotlight her engaging vocals and ability to infuse passion into a memorable lyric.
“I was raised on the classics,” says Josie, who wrote “Country Gold” as a tribute to the artists she listened to and loved during her formative years. She is releasing her third original song, "Fake Friends,” on April 25.
Her sassy attitude and obvious talent are earning the young artist respect in Nashville and starting to co-write with other Nashville talents, including noted songwriter Noah Henson, formerly a member of the rock band Pillar, who is currently Brantley Gilbert’s guitar player.
Josie can often be found singing at one of the venues on the city’s famed Broadway. Even though her age keeps her from performing in clubs at night, she’s always looking for an open mic and a chance to get in front of a crowd.
Not since teenage Taylor Swift surprised the music world has there been a young woman fiercely pursuing her dreams with such determination. Josie Sal has the talent and work ethic to make those dreams a reality.
