Joy Wellboy are Joy Adegoke and Wim Janssens, a band from Brussels, currently based in Berlin.
Since their first concert in 2009, Joy Wellboy rapidly moved on from the local scene in Brussels to stages all over Europe. They played with <a href="spotify:artist:6bWxFw65IEJzBYjx3SxUXd" data-name="Morcheeba">Morcheeba</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:3XHO7cRUPCLOr6jwp8vsx5" data-name="alt-J">alt-J</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:5IiWXFMbz2luGGkdzSBNhJ" data-name="Eiffel">Eiffel</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:7qHOphlWaJrfFa0BqpayDG" data-name="Planningtorock">Planningtorock</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:53KwLdlmrlCelAZMaLVZqU" data-name="James Blake">James Blake</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:6XZYAWJLL8UIbxAqjKj3cg" data-name="SOHN">SOHN</a> and others as a support band and headlined club tours from France to Poland, Germany to Italy and everywhere in between.
In the past, they have released music on Universal Music, Bpitch Control, Fayer, Adp Records, Klub Kid Records, Siamese Twin Records, and Sizzer Records.
The new album "No Law Of The Land" (Feb. 2026, Yoro Moon Records) is their most uplifting work to date. It's a celebration of the malfunction, instigates a rupture in the hamster wheel, embraces the malaise, and tries to mend the broken pieces back together. It's a record that came to fruition in a very short amount of time. The plan was to write songs that would not take up too much headspace. Everything had to feel and sound effortless.
In hindsight, "first thought, best thought" seemed to be the guideline that helped create this album.
Feverish beats, organs, synths, and basslines lay down the foundation where their distinctive vocals can freely dwell.
Knowing every tick, weakness, and strength after more than 10 years of working together, only made it a lot easier to bring them to the place where they always long to be; united in song.
