J.P. Burr is an Americana rock artist from Burns, Tennessee whose music draws from the rich lineage of American country, folk, and blues. Built on organic instrumentation and a deep respect for songwriting, Burr’s sound reflects the influence of artists like Tom Petty, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, and Bruce Springsteen—melding heartland rock grit with southern storytelling.

Burr’s relationship with music began early. Inspired to pick up guitar at age nine after discovering the game Guitar Hero, he quickly immersed himself in playing and songwriting. His grandfather, a musician and avid guitar collector, further fueled that curiosity. By high school, Burr was already performing around the Nashville area in local bands, developing the road-tested instincts that would shape his career.

At nineteen, Burr left college to pursue music full-time after landing his first touring opportunity as a guitarist. Since then, he has spent years on the road as a respected touring and studio player, sharing stages with major artists including Stevie Nicks, Luke Combs, Dwight Yoakam, and Eric Church.

Alongside his work as a guitarist, Burr writes and records his own material. His 2021 EP Lonely Like You introduced his songwriting voice, while his upcoming EP Big Blue North, arriving March 27, continues to explore the timeless intersection of rock, country, and Americana.
