Have you ever thought what it might sound like if you were to create drums using recordings of a lampshade or an elevator? Well this is exactly the question that JP Riley has found the answer to with his debut release, “Warmth”.

Drawing from an array of different influences: alt-J, The Night Cafe and Enter Shikari to name a few, the British alternative pop artist has spent the past year moulding his musical style around his unique use of heavily morphed everyday sounds paired with emotive, melancholic lyrics, deep bass lines and heavily syncopated drums. Recording the songs from his old attic bedroom at his parents house, J.P. worked alongside Producer Tony "MC Biggie" Biggz of Zion Recording Studios - retired MC who has previously toured the world with acts such as Pendulum, Chase and Status and The Prodigy - in order to capture the nostalgic essence that lay within the resonances of the four walls the artist grew up in.

After receiving a compliment from BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins, who named the artist "one to watch", and his second single 93 receiving "Record of the Week" from BBC Shropshire, JP is now looking forward to the release of his EP which comes out on 13th August. Many fans have said that the music gives them vibes of driving down country roads just as the sun is setting, making this EP perfect for a moments relaxation.
