J.Rodd

Jerriod Durant(J. Rodd) was born in Muskogee Oklahoma, but raised in Tulsa Oklahoma. Selina Gist (mother) and James Durant jr (dad) are Haskell, Oklahoma natives. I have one younger sister and an older brother. Music has always been a way of  life. Started rapping at the age of fifteen.  Healing others through my lyrics is a way I try to give back to the community. Having strong faith is a must where I come from. My inspiration comes from seeing my dad DJ hella parties, weddings and anywhere music was played. I always had a gift is what others would tell me. It took awhile for me to grasp that concept, looking at the proverty level in my town. Tulsa artists is underrated. Talent is here, but noone has entered that major stream community yet. My flavor is unique because I try to motivate instead of parade sexuality, violence or gang material. I'm a father of a set of twins. One boy and a girl. I got the best of both worlds. So, what's next for me, I'm in the process of starting my own record label, Truegrit Entertainment. Scouting talent, showing my own skills and climbing to the top.
