He was born in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco on November 19th. He began his career as a singer in the city of Mexicali, B.C. interpreting modern music, rock n roll and ballads. He arrived in Mexico City and in 1978, recorded his first record of Ranchera Music. Even having a number one hit with the song,'No Mas Por Tu Culpa'(Because Of Your Fault) because of this hit song, the film industry took notice of him. This was to be the first of many hits he would accumulate and helped secure his participation in the 4th Annual Festival of Ranchera Music held in 1982 and with the song 'Como Le Hago? (How Do I Do It?)' he was awarded 2nd place and the recognition of the Mexican people and the Latino community of the U.S.A.thus to this very day being completely recognized and accepted for his talent.
In the years, 1985-1986, he was nominated for the Grammy in which the National Academy of Recording Art and Sciences gives in the category of Best Mexican/American Artist. To this day he has recorded 38 records!
In the film industry he is already an icon giving to fact that he has participated in more than 130 films! He continues his successful career with personal appearances in major cities in the U.S.A. and Mexico always to sold out crowds singing his signature hits as well as new material also. Thus becoming one of the most favorite singers of the Mexican community.
His most recent success is the participation in the popular 2009 soap "Passion Morena' (Dark Passion).
