In her early twenties her fascination with Jazz harmony, improvisation and Music Production lead Judith to study Jazz and Audio Technology in London.
As part of her MA thesis Judith produced her debut album ‚Fire & Sleep’, which combined Brazilian styles with contemporary production techniques. Promoting the album Judith was touring London’s Underground scene and England as a Jazz songwriter and with her six piece band that featured an exciting line-up of London musicians: Rob Pennel (dr/ perc), Ben Bastin (b), Pedro Velasco (g), Gaz Wilkins (rhod/moog), Chris Williams (sax/fl), Liz Palmer (fl).
Judith’s new album ‘The Flood’ (Oti-O Records) has been described as a colourful fusion of Jazz, Electronica and Alternative and features Drummer/ Percussionist Adam Osmianski, Bassist Ferg Ireland, Jack Ellister, Producers Stephan Bissart (Berlin) and Gabriel Ralls (London), and other talented musicians and producers from across London, Stuttgart and Berlin.
Trip-hop beats, Jazz and World elements set the base for distorted guitars, synths and noise while Judith’s atmospheric vocals and storytelling melodies link everything together, making for an outlandishly beautiful, hypnotising concept album.
Judith’s influences range from Björk, James Blake and Massive Attack over to PJ Harvey, Feist and Joni Mitchell. Moreover various Jazz giants like Billie Holiday or Chet Baker as well as international composers such as Avishai Cohen or Antonio Carlos Jobim, have greatly influenced her.
