Effervescent, eccentric, energetic….all of these words describe Judy Pancoast; a singer, songwriter and recording artist who crafts clever songs with infectious melodies, as evidenced by the 2011 Grammy Award nomination for Best Children’s Album for her one-of-a-kind CD, Weird Things Are Everywhere!
Judy grew up listening to the music of The Carpenters and other Top 40 tunes with memorable melodies and catchy hooks. Her favorite holiday was, and is, Christmas, and in 1998, while recording her first Christmas album, Judy wrote a song in tribute to Christmas decorators. “The House on Christmas Street" was discovered by decorators into the hobby of synchronizing their displays to music, and a hit was born. The official video has over 240K views.
Judy has collaborated with New York Times best-selling author Joe R. Lansdale on a stage musical adaptation of his novella, “Christmas with the Dead.” The show will premiere in Los Angeles in early 2020.
Judy also presents “All My Best Memories: Built by The Carpenters,” a cabaret show musical memoir featuring the music of the brother-sister duo along with Judy’s reminiscences of their effect on her life and her dreams. Truly a heartfelt tribute from a lifelong fan, and is now available for booking at theaters and performing arts centers throughout the U.S.
In 2019 Judy added the title “Author” to her resume, with the release of her first novel, THE HOUSE ON CHRISTMAS STREET, based on her hit song of the same name.
